Paper Calendar for the Win.

Confession: I Still Use a Day-Timer

So I confess, I still use a Day-Timer.

My preference (for 32 years and counting) has been the 2-page per day original, one small spiral notebook per month. (I actually still have, on the back shelf, 31 plastic boxes of calendars – one for each year going back to 1993 – you know, just in case.)

I keep the current Day-Timer on my literal desktop next to my keyboard (my grandfather Whipple’s desk) with a black Pilot G-2 05 black ink gel pen. (No other pen is permitted in the office. If somehow, against all odds, a .07 finds its way into the office, it is immediately outed – it feels like writing with a crayon.)

Keeping Life in Order

Today I took some time to make sure my upcoming court appearances are written onto the proper calendar dates and that they do not conflict with my late summer trip to Florida, Kansas & Texas or the fall trip to Ireland which my wife and I have planned. So far so good.

I particularly did not want to be gone when a certain adoption hearing comes up. That case has involved not only the U.S. State Department but also a foreign attorney to provide notice of the adoption hearing to an absent biological father who lives in a foreign country.
